What is massage?

As well as standing on its own as a therapy, we believe massage can be the perfect complementary therapy to osteopathy. For example, when used regularly for people with complex and long-standing musculoskeletal conditions.
There are many types of massage. Our team of experienced massage therapists offer the main forms: sports and remedial, as well as offering pregnancy massage.
Sports Massage
Sports massage is for the treatment and prevention of sporting injuries. It’s designed to alleviate the stress and tension that builds up in the body’s soft tissue during physical activity. It can also help prevent those niggling injuries that can get in the way of performance and achievement. You’ll struggle to find a serious athlete who doesn’t have regular sports massages.
If you have an injury, our sports massage therapists will be able to advise you on whether you should also see our sports osteopath.

Remedial Massage
Remedial massage is designed to tackle areas that are sore, stressed, tense and painful. It’s also good for relief from the mental and physical stresses and strains of modern life, and can help you sleep at night while giving you more energy during the day.
Pregnancy Massage
Many women leave their pregnancy massage until the final weeks of pregnancy. Almost everyone who does says they wish they’d started sooner. You’re allowed to enjoy your pregnancy with deep relaxation and a positive attitude, free from aches and pains. Don’t leave it until you’re stressed and achy… we’ll keep you feeling awesome right the way through.

What to expect during your first appointment

Your first appointment
During your first appointment we’ll talk to you about your health and life, including your medical history, diet and exercise habits.
We’ll also discuss which areas need to be massaged, and whether you need one massage or two, or an ongoing treatment plan.
